The committee against the torture was created according to the article 17 of the Agreement against the torture and the other punishments(efforts) or the cruel, inhuman or degrading treatments to oversee the application of the agreement in this domain. The status of the agreement is available on the Web site of the Height-commissionership. The committee meets twice a year to Genéve.
